Gordy Slack interview
Gordy Slack was on the radio in the Bay Area yesterday and the show is now online. I haven't listened to the whole thing yet but I'm sure it was good, since Gordy is quite a thoughtful guy. Gordy is also doing a reading at Books Inc. Opera Plaza, 601 Van Ness Ave. SF, CA, on Monday, 7/16. 7:00 pm -- I might go myself if I get the chance...

Gordy Slack: "it all started in the late 1990's when a very conservative , sort of 'old Dover' faction, began to take over the school board. And it was very...when I say 'old Dover', i mean Dover as a community split between newcomers who are commuters to Harrisburg..."
Iverson: "...the state capital..."
Slack: "...the state capital of Pennsylvania...they say Pennsylvania has Phliadelphia in the East, and Pittsburgh in the West, and Alabama in between."
LOL.

I'm sure it's been said before, but I can't resist: Give the anti-evolutionists some Slack.

Slack was marginally O.K., but he give the Discovery Institute far too much credit as honest seekers of knowledge.
Ivcrson is a milktoast sop who is far more interested in feel-good woo woo than reality.

Waldteufel, did you mean to say "milquetoast"? LOL!

Maybe note #188000 was an attempt at a cure for insomnia?

Wow. So I just junked a comment that was probably the all-time PT record holder for length, illucidity, crankiness, off-topicness, cussing, and general crazyness. It was pages long and totally uninterpretable...

I thought hitting "junk" sent it to the BW. Anyway it had indications of just being some bizarre kind of computer spam rather than something worth discussing.

PS - Slack has what I would call "sympathy" for the ID guys, sympathy in the sort of academic sense. Kind of like the USSR nerds at the CIA during the Cold War.
