A bit late but never too late Eight Baylor professors join peers voicing support for evolution education Waco Tribune Dec 12, 2007

More than 100 biology faculty members from universities across Texas signed a letter sent Monday to state Education Commissioner Robert Scott saying Texas Education Agency employees should not have to remain neutral on evolution.

I thought at Baylor evolution was taught in the engineering department.

the second letter (Dr. Daniel Bolnick's response to Texas Education Commissioner Robert Scott), is one of the most clear, concise, and well thought-out letters explaining this situation I've seen publicly in quite a long time.

It is deferential to the role and position the TEA plays, and at the same time clearly outlines the need for science education based on actual science, and reaches a hand out to invite the TEA to actually utilize their position in order to further that goal.

I doubt, if i tried a dozen times, I could have written such a well thought out response.

somehow, though, I rather doubt it will play well with the likes of Mcleroy.

Here's a quote from the second letter that we should all remember and use: "...the Discovery Institute's recent publication Exploring Evolution: The Arguments for and against Neo-Darwinism, which was written to facilitate classroom discussions of "weaknesses," is demonstrably full of factual errors and logical fallacies."

I wonder if anyone over at the TEA has ever forwarded an email mentioning/promoting ID?
Reading Scott's reply was a bit unsettling, read to me like: nothing to see here, don't worry your pretty little heads, all is well, move along...

What do you suppose goes through the minds of the TEA people in response to all these letters:

1) Oops, maybe we were wrong, maybe we should apologize and think about this a bit more carefully; or

2) Hey, not only did we excise the cancer, but we found a whole long list of atheists and god-haters to target! We should do this more often.

This should not even be an argument we need actual science education that does not even mention ID. This is most certainly what we do not have period and that is very disturbing. Our nation's teachers should all approve teaching only evolution in public, private , and higher education schools because religion has no place in a schoolyard. ID being taught in schools is what the Pat Robertson's, Jerry Falwell's, Ron Luce's, Billy Grahams, and Joel Osteens and the other primitive theists of the world want and we all know that is a bad thing for everyone.

Hey, I found this nice website :) You can watch movies for free and the quality is great. The only lame thing is that you have to fill out a free and very easy survey, to unlock the movies. But i guess two minutes of "work" aren´t to much for watching high quality cinema movies, right? I hope you enjoy the website as i did.
