Pioneer Press: Biology prof expelled from screening of 'Expelled'

By Chris Hewitt from Pioneer Press has an article titled Biology prof expelled from screening of 'Expelled' in which he describes the events.

Myers was in the Twin Cities this week for the American Atheists Conference 2008 in Minneapolis and, coincidentally, he learned there was to be a free screening of "Expelled" at the Mall of America Thursday night. So he registered to attend with his wife, Mary, along with what Myers called "a whole parade of atheists," including internationally famous science writer, Richard Dawkins, whose books include "The God Delusion." They all got in, but Myers did not.

PZ Myers had a good laugh

"It shows off the hypocrisy of these people, as well as their outright incompetence," said Myers, who reports that his blog — scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/ — had an all-time high-traffic day Friday. "I could not imagine a better result for this. They've shown themselves to be completely dishonest and that they're trying to hide the truth about their movie, which is to my advantage. And they've shown themselves to be such flaming idiots."

And the final irony

In the meantime, Myers is entertained by this irony: "Expelled's" closing credits include a thank-you to him. So he knows the filmmakers are grateful for the couple of hours he gave them last year. Just not grateful enough to let him see their movie.

PvM lying for Darwin (again): Anyone able to do a google search can find the answer for himself, the RSVP site was well publicized.

RSVPs are responses to invitations. Could you produce PZ Myers' invitation? If he did not receive an invitation, what is he doing responding to an RSVP? The New York Times piece clearly states this was a private function. I happen to be in possession of an email invitation to the event, sent out to a Christian preacher.

Paul Lauer is the CEO of Motive Entertainment. Mr. Myers, can you produce the email invitation that you received? If not, do you know what RSVP means? Have you ever RSVP'd for a function you were not invited to before?

Five posts after mine by William Wallace and not a single one of them an explanation. So, why don't you repost or quote from your deleted post that has an alleged explanation, or are you afraid that someone is going to put a horse's head in your bed?

PvM, thanks for returning those deleted comments from William Wallace. Of course, that doesn't help his case at all, since I already said in another thread that it seems the promoters of the Expelled movie totally got the concept of RSVP wrong, and Wallace shot himself in the foot while defending them.
