I thought that was an elephant enclosure at the zoo. What happened? Did the donkeys kick the elephants out?

A pair of creationists? (No, sorry: that's not fair to the donkeys, is it?)

Tiffany · 4 November 2008

Aww, hello, sweet Jenny and Blackjack.

I believe there was a 'landslide' involved but perhaps that was just a rumor

Well, if those elephants ate too much of the vegetation on a slope, it could leave the ground with nothing much to hold it in place.

Those are two really cute donkeys. Good pic!

Photo of Luskin and Dembski at a creationist retreat?

Donkeys are actually quite smart animals!

Yes, they are, Heleen. And attentive. And quite capable of good will towards humans. If you've ever been on the good side of a precocious preschooler you have a basic understanding of being on the good side of a donkey. And if you've every been on the bad side of a precocious preschooler . . .

Apparently, the elephants got into a musth some five years ago and went on a rampage, invading into other enclosures etc. Finally they were kicked out and these donkeys got to occupy the areas vacated by the elephants. Just hoping these donkeys do not get afflicted with the same hubris these elephants had back in 2000.
