Typecasting?

Paul Bettany, who plays Charles Darwin in Creation, is also playing the archangel Michael in the upcoming supernatural fantasy movie, Legion. According to the trailers, Michael comes to Earth to save humanity from the God's wrath. I hope I'm not the only one who finds this pairing of roles amusing.

Why Waterloo? The best station for the Natural History Museum, to visit the new Darwin Centre, is South Kensington. If you want to see the Blue Plaque that marks where Darwin lived on Gower Street (which is where UCL Biological Sciences is now) the best station would be Euston Square, or Euston mainline station. Or are we playing the popular team game "Mornington Cresent"?

I thought it was "Here!" "Waterloo" provides insight into how they think though. Not only is it a war metaphor, it implies that there is one battle, one factoid that will somehow defeat all of science. Good for you - seach for that ~~wild goose~~ domino!

In a slightly more serious example of typecasting, some may remember that Paul Bettany played a Darwin-like character, Dr. Stephen Maturin, in Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. In that movie, his ship ended up in the Galapagos Islands and he was instrumental in helping to defeat a rival French ship by using his biological insights.

Well Waterloo was, as the Duke of Wellington said, "a damn close run thing", so we still have quite a battle on our hands to defeat the creotards. I wonder who will be playing the part of the Prussians who turn up at the last minute and help to swing the thing? Apologies to any French people reading this.
