Tim White, discoverer of Ardipethicus ramidus, among other significant hominin fossils, is featured in this short video (7 minutes) from NPR's Science Friday. Well worth a watch.

The very first minute of the video describes the difference between pretenders like Floyd, Robert and Steve and real scientists.

Pretenders? Surely not!

I can also strongly recommend a very well done presentation by Dr. White in the Holiday Lecture series. You can stream it from the HHMI site. Although aimed at high school and undergrad students, it has lots of great detail that everyone would appreciate and learn from. What really grabbed me was the tremendous care and collaboration that goes into field work.

There are a number of other presentations of interest in addition to the two by Prof. White.
