Alluvial fan created by the torrential rainfall 1 year ago, as seen from the Visitor Center, Trail Ridge Road, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado, September, 2014. The meander at the bottom of the screen passes through the bed of Fan Lake, which was formed in 1982 when the Lawn Lake Dam burst and inundated the City of Estes Park.

The same St. Vrain flood in September 2013 also caused a huge landslide on the side of Twin Sisters, which can be seen from the Peak-to-Peak Highway south of Estes Park.

RAPID SEDIMENTARY DEPOSITION! JUST LIKE NOAH'S FLOOD! GENESIS CONFIRMED!

And look! There are two upside-down friendly dinosaur heads, which proves they were on the Ark!

But you still need Teh Flud and only Teh Flud for rapid burial of animals so that they can become fossils.
Don't forget it!

How disappointing. I was hoping that if I dug there I could find a pre-Cambrian bunny.

ksplawn quoted some creationist who said:
RAPID SEDIMENTARY DEPOSITION! JUST LIKE NOAH'S FLOOD! GENESIS CONFIRMED!
This argument never made sense to me. We have observed evidence of rapid sedimentary deposition without a global flood, so why do creationists claim that sedimentation is evidence for a global flood? Why does some YEC give "creation tours" of the Mt. St. Helens area? There is no need for Noah's Flood to account for these formations.

Just this summer my wife and walked down to the end of the fan where the two rivers meet. And the summer before we hiked up to a beautiful area where the path crosses (crossed - the bridge is gone) the river coming down from Lawn Lake. All wonderful country, and quite instructive concerning the power of nature.

I'm not a big alluvial fan, but I like this one!

Not so fast. People who believe the global Flood think the Earth is at least 6000 years old. And many of them - a slight majority in fact - think that Earth is billions of years old. But this "evidence" refutes them, and "prooves" that the Earth is much younger than 6000 years old. Maybe 1982 is when it all started, not just the lake. That was the year of the first idiotic Gallup poll on creationism/evolution. Coincidence? Or design? And since everyone hates either the 60s or the 70s (or both) this means they never happened! ;-)

I have not seen any alluvial by my eyes yet but this one is not nice in my opinion. All things are green and this alluvial doesn't seem beautiful IMO.
