We got some quality Reed time, so things may be working a little better. Rest assured the Crew is hard at work finding a long-term solution for our server woes.

Yardbird · 12 January 2016

All due respect and thanks to the Crew.

Yeah, thanks!

It was only a matter of time before the server became a target for divine vengeance with this site's support for atheism-evolutionism.

Well god doesn't seem to be powerful enough to stop the wicked Ravi. Or maybe you're playing for the wrong side. Oh well, over on the other thread you have a lot of unanswered questions. I suggest you commence to get ready to begin answering. Even Ray has some choice comments for you. Imagine that.

Is that all god can do? Hey, God, is that all you got? Seriously, though, Ravi, you're a sophomore at a bible college, right? And maybe a little Poe at the same time. You're not really serious about comments like that, are you? Oh, and did you ever get around to thinking of something that is NOT designed, and how you know it's not?

So, Ravi, why didn't/doesn't God stop the flow of electrons through any server that hosts PT? Or just disappear any packets to and from the server? To quote the big green guy, "Puny god!!" Oh, but wait, don't we have free will? Don't we wait until the day of judgement for the reward for our virtues and the punishment for our sins? And don't we have until the moment of our death to repent and ask forgiveness and accept Jesus as our savior? If it's supposed to be our choice, why is god screwing with us? And if he really does want to convince me, just messing with the server's pretty wimpy. Why not something incontrovertible? A never empty bottle of Whistle Pig in my desk drawer would be quite persuasive. Throw in a bottle of Templeton and I'll hallelujah all night long.

So I guess PT is stronger than God, having recovered from the problem. Some God you've got there. Glen Davidson

Yeah. We're just playing "Whack-A-Troll" on a dead thread.

prongs · 13 January 2016

Ravi has the mentality of a sixth-grader in Christian school, which means he might be a freshman in a fundamentalist Christian 'college'. Or else he's a troll.

Hey, even trolls gotta have fun. And it's been fun for us, too.

Robert Byers · 13 January 2016

God is not interfering with PT but gods blessing is needed for anything to endure.
its not this forum but evolutionism that needs blessing and , since it won't get it, one can presume eror will not endure.
I hope PT keeps on of coarse as the more discussion there is the more the right side prevails over the wrong and anyways its intellecxtually stimulating and fun. more people would be cool and more freedom to comment but thats up to the gods.

phhht · 13 January 2016

Horse shit.

Nobody sane needs gods, Robert Byers. Nobody sane believes in them.

Or can you prove me wrong? Got any testable evidence for the reality of gods, Byers?

No, of course (not of coarse, stupid) you don't. You're a deluded loony. Your gods are not real, no more than vampires are real, or superheroes.

DS · 13 January 2016

i dis agree for booby eror does indeed indure

Scott F · 13 January 2016

A big "Thank You" to Reed and The Crew for wrangling a recalcitrant web site. :-)

Thank God that The Crew doesn't believe in God.

Dave Luckett · 13 January 2016

Gods, Byers? Plural?

Well, it would explain the universal truth that "bad things happen" that nobody wants, or did anything to cause. Theodicy, in other words. One or more gods are tricksters, or just malevolent. So you're not a Christian, Byers, nor subscribe to any Abrahamic religion? Just asking, because last I heard, they were supposed to be monotheisms. One God. One alone. Even Christians say they believe in one God, although they say he has three persons. (How that works I don't know, but I am somewhat comforted by the fact that neither do they.)

So you think that the gods, or one of them, put PT down for a while, do you? Ahriman, was it? Maybe Coyote? One of the many Shaitans out in the wilderness, perhaps?

I have a minor hobby - collecting the heresies that creationists would get burned at the stake for, if they ever were to get their wish and bring the Middle Ages back again. FL would go down for limiting God's grace and varying God's word to suit himself. Biggy, it would be denying the perfection of Holy Writ - he told us once that it was actually deceptive. Marilyn, alas, it's manicheanism - she thinks Satan was a creator, too. And for you, it's paganism. Polytheism. Gods, plural.

Expound, Byers. I could use the laughs. And when the Inquisition is restored, and the order you faunch after is returned to the world, betcha you go to the stake before me. I've got the brains to recant and grovel in suitable terms, and I actually understand the issues. You haven't and you don't.

phhht · 13 January 2016

Thanks for "faunch".

Your blasphemy is noted. These are just warnings. If PT persists, there could be fireworks.

Belief in Neo-Darwinism is unforgivable and adherents cannot be redeemed.

Let it be noted that there is no such thing as "belief in Neo-Darwinism".

Well then, you won't have any trouble quoting chapter and verse for that little gem. Or are you just making shit up? Or are you just a troll yanking chains? That seems to be the general consensus.

We will of course repent on our deathbed, just like Emperor Constantine himself. No sin is unforgivable, or are you really Vicarius Filii Dei?

Pshaw, I'm a much better prophet than you. I foresee that PT will persist in its blasphemy (server malfunctions notwithstanding), and that because of its blasphemy, in exactly 172 days God will bring upon us fireworks. Now that, my friend, is how you do prediction.

gnome de net · 14 January 2016

I was thinking maybe 84 days, the Season Opener for Major League Baseball. (They still celebrate wins with fireworks, don't they?)

Yeah, I much prefer prophecies like that, so I know exactly what is coming, and exactly when -- unlike most fundagelical 'prophecy', left intentionally vague as to precisely what and when. That way if it doesn't happen they can always say, "Not YET!" And when any random misfortune occurs, it's, "See, we told you!" Most of them are smart enough to leave it imprecise and vague, except for fools like Harold Camping. Oh, yeah, and that Jesus guy who was going to return within a few years.
